For the money, this is an ok gadget, though not up to the quality of the Choiix leather carrying case we have on our 7" EEE PC. It doesn't protect much other than the top and bottom of the PC, and feels flimsy -- the SD card pocket ripped the first time I tried to put a card in it. This will work just fine if you're not a frequent traveler. If you are, you may want to wait until Choiix comes out with a case for the 10" EEE.

I purchased this to cover my already black Asus Eee 1000HE. Why black on black? I couldn't decide on a design just yet but wanted to protect the surface in the meantime, and was tired of the fingerprints within a day of owning the netbook. Though this does still show some fingerprints, because it's not the high gloss of the Eee, they are not as noticeable and easier to wipe right off. I also figure if I get just the plain black, I can put stickers on the skin and really personalize. Application was fairly easy but don't rush it. The area around the touchpad was a tad tricky and delicate but I got it, and the icons lined up great. I would certainly buy these again!

I got this as added protection for my black Asus eeePC 904HA (which shares the same chassis as the 1000 but with a smaller screen). I was worried the glossy surface of the 904HA would get scratches easily, and this decal was just what I needed to alleviate those worries. Everything applies easily and almost perfectly; no air bubbles but the decal that covers the lid bunches up a bit at the corners. The decals are also much glossier than what is shown so they smudge easily, but better them than the eee itself. The only thing this package really needs is a skin for the touchpad. That and the slightly high price point are all that's keeping the score from reaching a prefect 5.

just like the previous reviewer said this is A LOT LIGHTER than carbon fiber. actually it looks NOTHING like carbon fiber. i am a fan of import motorcycles and cars. i really like the aftermarket carbon fiber parts that you can get for them so i thought it would be cool to have a carbon fiber look to my asus eee 1000he. but now it looks more like a gucci bag. LOL



carbon fiber is supposed to be black on black fibers. type "carbon fiber" in google and click the images section. you will see that most carbon fiber is all black.



i'm not returning it though. mainly because i'm lazy. but it is a good quality vinyl and the adhesive is excellent. it sticks on firm but can be easily pulled off to adjust. the quality of the material really is great.



but if you want a carbon fiber look....this is NOT it. i still think this is better than the skulls, flowers and flames though. it does look classy (gucci bag) so i'm basically happy with it.



my low score is just because the stock photo doesn't really look like the actual item. i'm going to put up my own pics so you can see what it really looks like.



update: ok i added pictures to show what it looks like on a blue asus eee 1000he. just a note on the picture of the palm rests: the skin for the palm rest originally came as ONE peice (two squares with a thin strip in between) i cut off the thin strip so they are actually now two seperate squares. i figured this would be a lot easier to apply than having the thin strip in the middle not aligning right. i would definitely recommend doing this. makes putting on the palm rest skin a lot easier.

I usually do not like trusting marketplace dealers on Amazon, but I decided to go ahead and order this skin from mygift anyways. I have a black 1000he, and wanted a dark, simple skin that would protect the machine from myself. I decided against the all black (not sure if this color is offered on Amazon, but I actually went to mygift.com and checked out their selection there) since I didnt' want to chance the blacks not beig the same color, and the other 'designs' were a little much for me. So carbon fiber it is, with much reservation since to me, carbon fiber screams rice rocket.

Anyways, the skin was received within a week, and packaged well to make sure no carrier folded the skin. Seeing the color for the first time... I was certainly taken back. It is a LOT brighter than the pictures would suggest, on Amazon and on their own website. It looks almost like textured silver. At first, I didn't like it. It is certainly growing on me now since I've had it.

As for the application itself, it comes on a big sheet, and you peal the two skins off, one for the lid and one for the palm rest. The palm rest is one piece, with a thin strip connecting the two bigger pieces of the left and right side of the touch pad. Applying the skins was a lot easier than I had anticipated. The adhesive is sticky enough to stay on, but easy to work with if you didn't press it down straight. A tip, don't pres the curve edges down until the end. Start with the curved corners, and then work your way out to smooth it out. It took me some time and it turned out ok.

I like how the skin protects against the scratches. You will still get the finger prints, but since it is not glossy black it is not as noticeable. I give this 4/5 cause of the color, but other than that, it is a great skin to have to protect your 1000.

I purchased this unit with high hopes. I'm a gamer, and having the additional USB ports on a cooler was a real necessity. It's plastic, which makes it light weight. Unfortunately after connecting the power cabele to my 2.0 USB port, two of the three fans don't spin up, unless I shake the unit violently. At $14.99 it may sound like a bargain, but it's not. Even with all three fans spinning, it hardly pushes any air at all, and my machine still got too hot.



The shipping cost wasn't even worth sending the unit back. It went straight in the trash. Save yourself the headache and get a better unit.



You get what you pay for.

I really love this case. I got it in black for my Asus 904HA which is the same size and shape as the 1000 except for the smaller screen. The fit is very good although not perfect--it wiggles ever so slightly. The part for the lid also has a glossy center which smudges just buy looking at it, but better it than the eee itself. In reality, the glossy lid case doesn't bother me at all. On the brighter side, all ports are easily accessible including the battery. If it weren't for the slightly loose fit and the slightly high price this would've been a full five stars.
