I love this little case. It fits my Asus EPC perfectly and has enough room in the outside pocket (which unzipps completely on 3 sides just like the main pocket) for my mini wireless mouse, pens, ear bud headphones, and power cables. The little pouch becomes a bit bulky then, but that's okay. The case is a snug fit around the laptop. There are corner grips for the laptop (clear plastic for the screen side and black elastic for the keyboard side) that don't seem to get in the way. I don't use them all the time since I often just take my laptop out of the case when I use it anyway.
But for how I use this, it is a perfect little case. I recommend it for anyone looking for a mini laptop case with a little room for some extras. The handle is nice and easily folds down and out of the way.

This softside case is incredibly roomy! Right now mine contains: in the large compartment, my EEE 1000HE netbook AND my LG Slim External Multi DVD Rewriter (I put the 100HE's cleaning cloth between them to prevent scratches); in the small compartment, the 1000HE power cord, PLUS both LG cords (USB & power), AND my Toshiba 320 GB mini external hard drive with its cord! Even with all of this stuff in there, I still have at least 1/4 inch or more clearance between my netbook and the zipper all the way around, so no danger of damage there. The memory foam IS thin, but the photos above are accurate: the foam IS deep enough (1/4 inch) to make a handprint in and, more importantly, to protect these precious gadgets from gentle bumps (it is NOT a hardsided case, so don't throw it around). Aesthetically, the case is very attractive and tidy/tight looking, clean lines, true "navy" blue. Very well constructed with tough seems; fabric seems tough also, but I haven't had it long enough to test that out. Wonderful product at a great price!

After reading the various reviews posted at Amazon, I selected this particular item because its description included 1000HE, not 1000HA. Pay attention to this difference - the Asus 1000HE is a thicker machine and will require a larger case. What I appreciate is that my machine fits "just so" and the extra pocket carries my Kensington Wireless Optical Mouse with USB extension cord, my Asus AC adapter with cords, my AT&T wireless network card and the screen cleaning cloth all together. Nice. I don't require a portable DVD reader for field work - one less item to haul.
Please keep in mind that you are buying a compact case that should provide safe transportation of your Asus netbook computer. This case provides the exact solution for my specific requirements - small size, ease of use and adequate storage. A larger case with greater storage capacity is what I wanted to avoid.
Just a comment regarding the proper venting of this machine - I found that the Asus vents the excess heat through its left side. In no way is this process blocked by this case. I use this netbook everyday and have not experienced overheating or performance problems. My Asus 1000HE has operated trouble free while secured within this case. I think people should know the truth about this case and I'm not a cheerleader. I bough this + 1000HE + SDRW-08D1S-U on 4/27/09. It just fits the 1000HE and if you do not want the zipper chewing through you Netbooks plastic exterior, you need to be extremely careful. You will not be tossing a Netbook in to zip-and-go. The picture above for memory foam is exaggerated as it is less than 1/4 inch thick and will not show a handprint. There are two clear plastic strips that hold onto your Netbook top and two spandex straps for the bottom. The clear plastic straps will break quickly and should not be used anyway. With this setup, your case will cling to the bottom and top of your Netbook leaving no room for airflow. The outside pocket will hold your power supply with chord and a very, very small mouse. It will not hold the ASUS DVDRW (SDRW-081DS-U) drive, which is a small form factor drive, and the power chord for the Netbook at the same time. The outside pocket is about the size of a sandwich bag (7 x 5.5 x 3/4 usable inches). Yes that is less than one inch in height. Convenience aside and $30+/-, it carries your Netbook snuggly. If you want a case that will carry all your stuff for travels, this isn't it. If you need something to carry your Netbook for day-work, this would suffice.
